Introducing H

Sitting on the sofa.

D snoring beside me.

Heavy breathing coming through monitor 

to let me know A is still sleeping.

And the sound of the rhythmic motor of a baby swing

fills the background.

Now a yawn, a turn of a tiny head,

a little body swaddled in pink.

Her name is H 

and she came to live with us Tuesday.

One month-old and weighing in at 5 lbs,

she's A's half-sister.

And we are in love.
